TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this website (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

The Site is operated by cookly.recipes and its operators ("we", "us", "our"). It is intended for people aged 18 and over.

2. What This Site Is

The Site is a research version of cookly.recipes, a recipe marketplace that is still being built. We use it to find out whether people want to buy restaurant recipes that are priced by how many home cooks have made them successfully.

To do that, the Site shows a shelf of recipes, lets you put them in a cart and takes you through a checkout. That checkout is a simulation. There are no user accounts, no real purchases, and no recipes are delivered. Everything you can do on the Site is explained in these Terms.

3. Simulated Checkout

When you press "Pay" on the checkout page, no money is taken. The Site is not connected to any payment provider. No charge, authorisation or hold is placed on any card.

The card number, expiry date, security code, name on card and billing address you type are used only to check that the form is filled in. They stay in your browser and are discarded when the page closes. They are never sent to our servers, never written to storage and never shown to us.

The one thing we keep is the email address you enter, together with the country you selected and the list of recipes in your cart at that moment. We use it to send you a receipt that says plainly that nothing was charged, to send you the promo code described in section 4, and to tell you when the real product opens. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle it.

We ask you not to enter real card details. The form accepts any number of the right length. If you do enter real details, they do not leave your browser.

Prices and totals shown at checkout are part of the test. They are not an offer to sell, and pressing "Pay" does not create a contract of sale.

4. Promo Code

After the simulated checkout we show you a promo code and send it to your email. The code is our thanks for taking part.

The code is valid only in the future, working version of cookly.recipes, on a first purchase, once per person. Its exact discount and conditions will be announced when the product launches and may differ from what the Site shows today.

The code has no cash value, cannot be exchanged, sold or transferred, and does not oblige us to launch the product by any date or at all. We may withdraw or replace the code before launch, in which case we will tell the email address it was sent to.

5. Recipes and Prices on the Shelf

The recipes, chef names, venues, numbers of cooks, success rates, reviews and prices on the Site are demonstration data. They show how the marketplace is meant to work. They do not describe real people, real restaurants or real sales.

The price ladder ($0.99 to $14.99) illustrates the pricing mechanism we intend to use. It is not a price list, and it may change before launch.

Nothing on the Site is a binding offer, a guarantee or a commitment to deliver any feature, recipe, price or service. The final product may differ materially from what is shown.

6. Early Access and Emails

You may leave your email through the early-access form or the checkout. Doing so adds you to a waitlist. It does not create any obligation on our part, does not guarantee access, priority or any benefit, and may be discontinued at any time.

We send a confirmation email and, later, news about the launch. Every email includes a way to stop receiving them, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time at the contact below.

7. Intellectual Property

The design, text, code, logos and layout of the Site belong to cookly.recipes or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from the Site without our written permission.

Some dish photographs on this research version are placeholders and will be replaced before launch. Photographs credited on the Photo credits page are used under the licence named there.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
• submit false, misleading or someone else's information through any form;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its servers or its data;
• use bots, scrapers or automated requests against the Site;
• interfere with the proper working of the Site or with other people's use of it.

9. No Warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that any information on it is accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, cookly.recipes and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, from any information on it, or from your reliance on the promo code or on any feature described as planned.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms at any time. Changes are posted on this page with a new date at the top. Using the Site after a change means you accept the changed Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which the operators reside, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Canada. If you live elsewhere, mandatory consumer protections of your country still apply to you.
